Edinburgh Castle’s Dog Cemetery

Several years ago when Mr. Ed and I were traveling about in the British Isles we visited Edinburgh Castle, a truly amazing place. And being true to the nature of a “Graveyard Rabbit” we found the Dog Cemetery especially fascinating. It seems that the castle (which was a fortress after all) was for periods of time completely cut off from the rest of the world, making it necessary to have a burial place for regimental mascots or soldier’s pets.

The cemetery can only be viewed from above but it’s a lovely little place and you can see blooming trees in the distance. Under the park is the train station!
