Caption: It Was 35-40 degrees below — That was the temperature accompanying the big snow storm of Feb. 23, 1922. William Sears, 2403 East Oak, who owns the pictures, said that the snow was so deep that it took him 24 hours to travel from Deerwood to Brainerd.
My Mother was born and raised in Bemidji and used to tell my sister, brother and I about walking to school in “30 below” weather… I think she said it was about three miles. Hmmm..
